About

I am a multi-disciplinary artist based in the United Kingdom.

My practice identifies with ancestral connections, in particular to Scottish clan Tartans.

I aim to connect people to their own clan heritage whilst creating a dialogue that reflects the context of Tartan as a globally renowned symbol.

My latest collection is 'Where Songlines and Kinship Meet'. After visiting Australia I became inspired by the Aboriginal spot paintings and mythology. The artwork in this series follows a spiritual journey through spot and sett, the path followed during the Dreamtime, and the colours belonging to land and kinship. They remind us of the historic and heroic fight by indigenous people to stand by their culture.

I began my artistic career by achieving a BA(Hons) Fine Art degree at the School of Art at Falmouth University between 2013-2016. I became a potter's apprentice in New York state (USA) at Smyth/Cid pottery for 3 months in 2019. I, then, travelled to Australia and New Zealand in 2022-2023 where I taught oil painting workshops in Queensland (AUS) and worked in an artist's studio in Nelson (NZ) before returning to the UK.
